(a) whether the Government has invited proposal from Indian companies to partner with foreign firms for manufacturing six new submarines under ‘Make in India’ initiative and issued the Expression of Interest (EoI) to shortlist Indian companies as strategic partners in it;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the total number of EoI been received from Indian companies on this project;
(d) whether the Government has shortlisted companies based on their capability for integrations of system of systems, expertise in shipbuilding domain and the financial strength; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and the action taken in this regard?

Will the Minister of DEFENCE be pleased to state:-
(a) whether the Government has invited proposal from Indian companies to partner with foreign firms for manufacturing six new submarines under ‘Make in India’ initiative and issued the Expression of Interest (EoI) to shortlist Indian companies as strategic partners in it;
(b) if so, the details thereof;

(a) & (b): Yes, Sir. An Expression of Interest (EoI) for shortlisting of Indian Strategic Partners (SP) has been issued in June, 2019. The last date for response by SP is 21.08.2019.
(c) to (e): Does not arise in view of (a) & (b) above.
