(b) the projects/activities under the said scheme, State/UT-wise;
(c) the details of the funds allocated/ released by the Government under the scheme since its inception, State-wise;
(d) the details of employment opportunities created for safai karamcharis/ manual scavengers in the country, State/ UT-wise since the inception of the Yojana;
(e) the details of the targets set and achievements made thereunder, so far;

(a): The salient features of the Swachhta Udyami Yojana of National Safai Karamcharis Finance & Development Corporation (NSKFDC) are given at Annexure-A.
(b) and (c): The Scheme is being implemented by NSKFDC. There is no provision for State-wise allocation of funds under the scheme.
(d): State-wise details of beneficiaries covered under the scheme are at Annexure-B.
(e) and (f): The scheme is a demand driven scheme and no target is fixed.
(g): “Swach Bharat Abhiyan” is not implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. However, this Ministry is working towards providing livelihood to safai Karamcharis and liberation of Manual Scavengers through its programs run through NSKFDC, which is a Corporation under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. NSKFDC provides financial assistance through State Channelizing Agencies to its target groups. They also impart employment linked Skill Development Training Programmes in various courses across the country through sector skill councils and government sector training institutes.
NSKFDC also provides stipend @ Rs.1500/- per person per month for non- residential training and @ Rs.500/- per person per month for residential training in case of trainees from the category of Safai Karamcharis.
Under Self Employment Scheme for Rehabilitation of Manual Scavengers, the identified manual scavengers are also provided the following benefits:
(i) Onetime cash assistance of Rs.40,000/- to the identified manual scavenger.
(ii) Skill development training to the manual scavenger/dependent family member with monthly stipend of Rs.3,000/-.
Loans upto Rs.15 lakh at concessional rate of interest with capital subsidy of Rs.3,25,000/- for undertaking alternative self employment projects.
