(a) whether the Government has any data with regard to the houses given to poor people under the Pradhan Manrti Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) during the last two years;

(b) if so, the details of houses sanctioned, State-wise especially in Jalore and Sirohi districts of Rajasthan and Latur and Solapur districts of Maharashtra;

(c) the number of applications pending with the Government for allotment of houses to the poor under PMAY-U, State-wise; and

(d) the action taken by the Government for early approval?

(SHRI HARDEEP SINGH PURI)

(a) to (d): States/ Union Territories(UTs) have undertaken demand survey under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) for assessing actual demand of housing. The assessed demand reported by States/ UTs is around 112 lakhs.A total of 110 lakh houses have so far been sanctioned under the Scheme; out of this, 71.4 lakh are at various stages of construction and 41.8 lakh have been completed/ delivered.

Out of total 110 lakh sanctioned houses, 99 lakh houses have been sanctioned for the beneficiaries belonging to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category.

During the last two years, a total of 57,98,690 houses have been sanctioned which include 51,47,935 houses for beneficiaries of EWS category.State/UT- wise details of houses sanctioned for beneficiaries of EWS category are at Annexure.

Details of houses sanctioned in Jalore and Sirohi districts of Rajasthan and Latur and Solapur districts of Maharashtra during the last two years are as under:

States/ UTs have been requested to get the project proposals for all their remaining demand of houses sanctioned at the earliest so that construction of all houses may progressively be completed within the Mission period i.e. March, 2022. States/ UTs have also been requested to expedite the completion of already sanctioned projects/ houses under the Scheme.
