Fieldwork of 7th Economic Census to be launched in Tripura

The fieldwork of 7th EC is being launched in the States of Tripura on 29th July 2019, and in Puducherry soon after. The fieldwork in other State/ UTs will be launched in August/ September, 2019. The enumerators and supervisors engaged by CSC have been trained to collect data on mobile application developed for data capture, validation, report generation and dissemination.
The data will be collected through door to door survey of each household and commercial establishment under the provisions of Collection of Statistics Act 2008. Household and establishment level data collected will be kept strictly confidential and used only for developmental planning and statistical purposes by State/ UT and central Governments.
The data collected by enumerators will be verified by supervisors in subsequent visit to the concerned household and establishments. After completion of data collection and processing, the statistical results of 7th Economic Census would be released.
A dedicated helpdesk with regional language support has been set up with a toll-free number (1800-3000-3468) for addressing queries of fieldworkers and citizens in general. A dedicated web-page has been created on the website of the Ministry (http://mospi.nic.in/7th-economic-census) to facilitate dissemination of information on various aspects of conduct of 7th EC.
Economic Census 2019
The Seventh Economic Census (7th EC) is being conducted by Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) in 2019. In the current Economic Census, MoSPI has partnered with CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, a Special Purpose Vehicle under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology as the implementing agency for 7th EC. In the 7th EC, an IT based digital platform for data capture, validation, report generation and dissemination will be used. The fieldwork for the 7th EC is likely to commence by the end of June 2019 or next month. The results of the exercise will be made available after verification and validation of the field work.
Economic Census will cover all establishments including household enterprises, engaged in production or distribution of goods/services (other than for the sole purpose of own consumption) in non-farm agricultural and non-agricultural sector will be counted.
