Implementation of Indira Gandhi Awas Yojana: Details of last five years
When the Minister of Rural Development was asked this question in the Lok Sabha, what is the account of the implementation of Indira Gandhi Awas Yojana in the last five years, that is, how much was spent on this scheme in these years and how many people benefited from this scheme? So in response to this question, the Minister of Rural Development said that the year-wise and state-wise details of the last five years under Indira Awaas Yojana are given in Annexure-1.

Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:-
(a) the amount spent under India Awas Yojana (IAY) during the last five years, year-wise and State-wise;
(b) whether there are old dues pending with the Government for release of funds to the States under the Scheme;
(c) if so, the details of the amount pending for release to the State, year-wise and State-wise;
(d) whether the Government proposes to increase the amount for constructing houses under IAY in the country; and
(e) if so, the details thereof along with the number of houses constructed under IAY during the last four years and the current year in Kerala, district-wise?

(a) to (c) The year wise and state wise release of funds for the last five years under Indira Awaas Yojana is given at Annexure-I. The funds are not being released for completion of IAY houses to the States/UTs in advance from 1st April 2018 onwards. However, the States are reimbursed if they need to recoup expenditure under this head. No proposal for release of old dues is pending with the Ministry.
(d) No Sir. The erstwhile rural housing scheme Indira Awaas Yojana has been restructured into Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana -Gramin (PMAY-G) from 01.04.2016. Under PMAY-G, the unit assistance has been enhanced from Rs.70,000 under IAY to Rs.1,20,000 in plain areas and from Rs.75,000 under IAY to Rs.1,30,000 in hilly States, difficult areas and Integrated Action Plan (IAP) districts.
(e) The district wise number of houses constructed under IAY during the last four years and current year in respect of the State of Kerala is at Annexure-II.
